Euthanized our 13 1/2 month old RR today
« on: July 23, 2010, 10:01 PM »
Well folks, we had to euthanize our 13 1/2 month old RR today.   :'(

He was diagnosed with Wobbler's Disease at 8 months old, and it progressed rapidly until he was 12 months old.  It is a sad day in our house as we look through pictures of Leo from the last 13 months.

RIP Leo.  :'(

You will forever be missed.  And we will always remember what you did for Mom;  And the protection you gave our Family.

 :'(

My deepest sympathy regarding the loss of your dear young boy, Leo.

From your photos it looks like Leo enjoyed a good life and was very much loved.

May Leo rest in the heavenly meadows until you all meet again -and- may your warm memories of him bring you & your family comfort.

Kind Regards,
Sandy B.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

From the pictures it looks like Leo had many different experiences.
He also had a loving and responsible owner, who had the love to make a hard choice.

I am so sorry for your loss.  That must have been such a sad decision, but Leo had a good life while he was with you and is now resting in peace without any pain.

Any time someone looses a beloved pet, it is a heart break. I am so sorry that he has only had a short time here in this life with you, but may he rest in peace free of pain over the rainbow bridge.  :rose

Words sometimes arent enough to convery how we empathize. I unfortunately know what its like to lose one so young - not soon enough, but soon, only good memories will last. Letting him go was your last act of love and I can tell he was a much loved and lucky guy. Please keep us updated on how you are doing.

It is so hard to lose a dog, especially when he is so young. A very difficult decision for you to make but well done on having the heart to take it. He looks like he made the most of his short life with you & has set up a pretty comfortable kennel for your next RR. :rose

Dear Chris,
so many thoughtful people have said what is difficult for you and your family to deal with right  now....words cannot convey how all of us feel but we try.

In your grief you made the right decision...as he could not have done this himself.
My sincerely condolences to you and your family.

Thank you all very much for your kind words at this unfortunate time for our family.  Leo will be surely missed.  May his puppy life continue in heaven;  for what he has done for my Mom and our family is beyond words.

On a lighter side, we have decided that we are getting a ridgeless female from the same breeder.  We pick up Annie this coming sunday in PA.

Again, thank you all so much for the kinds words.  :-)
