The Canada Geese are back. I realize that I live in Canada and that I am Canadian but I want to do serious harm to these birds.  The park is littered already and of course Sara and Trouble are totally fascinated by the droppings. It can't be the grass content since they don't eat grass and dogs are supposed to be colour blind so it shouldn't be the beautiful neon green colour.
What is it about goose poop that they find SO fascinating.
Finished sounding off. And of course there will be no takers for the flock.

They use dogs to herd them and them up on golf courses in certain areas of the country -
We have not seen them again this year yet, but they are a real nuisance at some of the parks.

I think I saw somewhere that in Miami they actually employ dogs to chase the birds off the airport.  Now, there's a thought.  Something else for our dogs to do that doesn't involve training and might bring in some income!!

Round here, the geese never seem to go away.  I suppose it is the climate that isn't cold enough (usually) to encourage them to go south for the winter.

One year, we had a pair of swans pay a visit.  Turns out they had gotten bored with our neighbor's pond and decided to go walkabout. 

I am having trouble with all the deer poop and rabbit poop that is around.  The deer are a menace and of course deer poop is so absolutely delicious neither dog can resist.  Result is that both have to go for a walk on leash where normally they would run free over fenced fields.

When we first moved into our house, the swimming pool was a mess... it looked more like a pond. We had a mating pair of ducks who swam around in it all spring and summer. If my dogs weren't such chickens (pre-RR Maximus days) we wouldn't have had all the duck poop on the pool deck. It did make for really cheap entrainment that year though -- watching the dogs trying to get to the ducks was fun.

Deer poop... Brings back vivid images 5 years ago.
Stitch was a puppy, and no mather what he kept on gaining weight. Too much love?? Ya know, there is this folk tale that says one can live on love and so on?? Nope, he had a case of to much deer poop.
And that grayish bird that fly in v-formation? Y'all just keep 'em on your side of the pond. Nope, to late for that S'pose the pond was to small

Odin Thinks it is his duty to clear all the goose poop off the docks at the dog park.  IT is really disgusting.

Well down here in Mississippi they DONT' LEAVE!. So I don't know where 'your' Canadian Geese spent their winter. And yes they do eat grass....at least the grass seeds. The corp of engineer lakes here in MS had erosion issues on their lakes because of the geese eating the grass and/or the grass seeds.


And will someone in FL please come to sardis, MS and take the freaking sea gulls back home.  They chase the fishing lures while the fishermen are casting. Not a pleasant experience when they actually catch one.
