In 3 months time i am expecting my first daughter. I currently always have owned pit bulls and bully type breeds this will be my first time with a ridgeback even thought his x with a bullmastiff. I lost my last dog a month ago and it still breaks my heart she was my best friend & we had a tight connection but thanks to abusive owners before me she had HA (human aggression) and with 2 years seeing a behaviorist in the last 6 months of her life she went 6 people, with 1 successful bite on my partners arm (he still loves her even though it happened) The behaviorist said its best she is put to sleep my heart is broken. I volunteer at shelters in my free time. I found BAM as a 2 year old ridgeback x that needs a home we have meet him a few times and fallen in love with him, he was exactly like my old dog minus the HA & he loves running around with my partners dog Malibu.

Welcome to the forum.  By the way I am officially jealous of your closeness  to the beach.  Having lived in Italy for 7 years as a teen and Ohio is very bland in comparison.
Joe.

Welcome Kaitlin!  I know your pain having to euthanize your previous dog.  I had a Borzoi for a long time that was HA too, but her problems were triggered by fear.  We lived with it for many years but it wasn't easy and there was always that worry that a bite might cause a major law suit.  With a baby on the way, while I know it must have been a terrible decision for you, it was probably the wisest.  I wish you lots of luck with your new dog.  If you need help, please don't hesitate to ask questions.

Hi Kaitlyn

Welcome to the forum, great to see a fellow Adelaidian here  :)

My friend has a Ridgeback x Mastif and he is a lovely dog - although quite scary looking with his size and the big head, but actually a very gentle dog.

Good luck with your new one and with the new baby on the way
Sheryl

The world is getting a very small place.  No, I am not from Adelaide, not from Oz at all.  However, both my brothers and their families live in and around Adelaide, and my father moved there from Tasmania a few years before he died.
